Gaia: It stemmed from a very simple desire: to offer our guests an experience that went beyond merely "sleeping in a pretty location"—sleeping inside nature, in direct dialogue with it. We had this magnificent, mature cork oak with a breathtaking view of Lake Montemassi and the village of Roccatederighi. It felt natural to build right there.
The Treehouse was built by hand. What were the main challenges?
Gaia: The most delicate work was not technical; it was about respect. The rule we set for ourselves from the start was clear: not a single nail, not a single screw into the living tree, and no cutting of primary branches. Therefore, the house does not rest on the oak, but is supported by chestnut posts anchored in the ground. The tree continues to live and grow through the house, not the other way around.
